ANALOGUE AIRBEARING TECHNOLOGY
Bergmann’s life-long passion in music, vinyl and the air-bearing technique, form the basis of Bergmann Audio. They believe that a turntable must consist of as few parts as possible, to avoid any interference with the sound. Every single part in our turntables is carefully considered in its function, material and design. Bergmann’s turntables and linear tracking tonearms are designed using as few components as possible.

The friction freedom creates a musical timing where nuances and details are a natural part of a transparent and vivid acoustic image. Their turntables are revered for having an unexpected fast and effective bass response. On their reference model, Sleipner, the platter is supported and centered by air. It has no physical contact with the rest of the turntable, except the contact with the belt – and with that, no friction or mechanical noise whatsoever.

The Magne System

Magne is a fully airbearing turntable with tracking airbearing tonearm. The platter, centered by a spindle, floats on an air film. Magne turntable and tonearm is extremely simple to adjust and operate. The air supply is equipped with dust filters and reservoirs to obtain dry, clean and smooth airflow and noiseless.

  • SINDRE
  • The Sindre System

The Sindre is a fully airbearing turntable and tonearm combination. Much like the Magne System, the Sindre float on an air film. The turntable and tonearm are extremely simple to adjust and operate with similar air supply, flow, and noiseless. A refinement of simplicity and Scandinavian design using their "airbearing" philosophy and the right materials to secure an extraordinary sound.

  • SLEIPNER
  • The Sleipner System

Bergmann's reference model, the Sleipner is a system with a bearingless floating platter. The bearing is the "heart" in all turntable constructions. The "heart" of Sleipner is both supported and centered by air. Essentially, the 9.2 kg platter is floating: No mechanical contact and therefore no bearing noise!
Sleipner is available with vacuum hold down.

  • MAGNE TONEARM
  • Magne Tonearm

The Magne tonearm is a linear tracking airbearing design. The moving part of the tonearm simply floats on a thin cushion of air, and is led only by the stylus tip and the record grove. The armtube and head shell are the first parts which must control, the grove modulation and vibrations when the cartridge tracks the record grove.

The Magne tonearm (the moving part) is designed and assembled as one, non-adjustable unit, which consists of an aluminium sliding pipe, carbon armtube (double tube with damping) and the head shell. The head shell is fixed completely parallel to the sliding pipe, for a perfect azimuth. The counter weight is decoupled from the armtube. The moving parts’ simple construction with no adjustable/vibrating parts, have no mechanical contact to the fixed part of the tonearm. The advantage of this simple construction is a completely unhindered signal transmission.

Adjustments: VTA, overhang, leveling. Azimuth by a spacer.

The Linear tracking tonearm tracks the record as it is pressed = no tracking error. The benefit is a distortion free and relaxed reproduction, even at complex passages. One more important advantage of the airbearing is the tonearm’s immunity to acoustic feedback, as it has no mechanical contact (the moving part) to the turntable. The only contact is through the stylus tip and the tonearm wire.

Finally the linear tracking tonearm is very easy to setup.

  • ODIN
  • Odin Tonearm

The Odin tonearm is Bergmanns' most universal linear tracking airbearing tonearm. Odin fits most high-end turntable designs- incl. the Bergmann 4-arm turntable.
To stay true to the idea of simplicity and avoid resonances, the Odin design and construction uses as few parts and assemblies as possible. A parameter in the ultimate tonearm design is stiffness and stability in the construction. Both are carefully incorporated in the Odin arm. An example is the air pipe, which is fixed in both ends, to give the floating part the best possible base.

The tonearm wire is, as usual in Bergman tonearms, one length from cartridge clips the the DIN connector. The DIN connector ensures user flexibility for connection of the preferred interconnect phono cable.

All adjustments are easily accessible and easy to handle. The Odin arm provides you with all adjustment possibilities required:
VTA, overhang, azimuth, air pipe leveling, and airflow adjustment.

The Bergmann air supplies are designed with dust filters, two air reservoirs with damping material to absorb pulsations from the pump.

  • DUST COVER
  • Dust Cover

The dust cover is a full cover for the Magne, Sindre and Sleipner systems. The acrylic has been cut out at each side for ease of removal. The user does not need to touch the top surface of acrylic so it remains clean and clear. There is also a cut out at the rear for the wires. Bergmann's logo is visible on the top.

    Material: 100% Acrylic

    Dimension: 55cm x 50cm x 24.5cm (L x W x H)
